  • ½ cup bell pepper (diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (diced)
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes (undrained)
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 2 cups macaroni (uncooked)
  • 1½ cups cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1.25 oz. packet chili seasoning mix
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon mustard powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon each: salt/pepper
  • ½ teaspoon hot sauce
  • Fresh Parsley (to garnish)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large pot over medium heat. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Add diced onion, bell pepper, and garlic; sauté until tender.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, chicken broth, and chili seasoning mix.
  4. Mix in uncooked macaroni, adding enough water or broth to cover; bring to a simmer and cook until pasta is tender (10-12 minutes).
  5. Reduce heat, stir in butter until melted, then add flour while mixing.
  6. Pour in heavy cream and milk; stir until combined.
  7. Mix in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and serve garnished with fresh parsley.
