  • 1 cup + 2 tbsp semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp dark cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp espresso powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line an 8×8 inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a stainless steel saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until browned and nutty aroma develops (about 10–12 minutes). Pour into a bowl and add chocolate chips to melt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, espresso powder, and salt.
  4. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy. Slowly mix in the melted chocolate-butter blend.
  5. Gently fold in dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth out evenly.
  7. Bake for approximately 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
