  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice apple vinegar
  • 1 ½ tsp granulated sugar or honey
  • 3 cloves garlic (finely minced)
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger (minced)
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Trim the ends off the fresh green beans and rinse them under cool water.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice apple vinegar, sugar or honey, and cornstarch until smooth.
  3. Heat the toasted sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Sauté minced garlic, ginger, and crushed red pepper flakes for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add the trimmed green beans to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally until they soften but remain crisp.
  6. Pour in the prepared sauce mixture along with water; stir to coat evenly.
  7. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  8. Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
