Ingredients
  

Breadstick Dough
  • 1 cup warm water about 110°F
  • 2 teaspoons sugar to activate yeast
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour plus extra for dusting
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
Toppings
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape the Bones
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 8 equal pieces.
  3. Roll each piece into a long, thin shape resembling a bone, about 6 inches long.
  4. Place the shaped bones on the prepared baking sheet.
Add Toppings and Bake
  1. Sprinkle garlic powder, parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning over the shaped bones.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  3. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
