Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 4 cups chopped green cabbage
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 pieces green onions, sliced
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Method

  1. Start by chopping your cabbage, mincing the garlic and ginger, and slicing the green onions.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef for about 5–7 minutes until it's fully cooked.
  3. Once the beef is nicely browned, add minced garlic and ginger into the skillet. Stir them together for about one minute until fragrant.
  4. Toss in the chopped green cabbage into the skillet. Sauté for another five minutes until slightly wilted but still crunchy.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, chicken broth, cornstarch, and sesame oil until smooth. Pour this mixture over the stir-fried ingredients.
  6. Stir well to combine all elements before cooking for an additional two minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Serve hot with garnished green onions on top.
