Cooking the Sausage and Vegetables
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Add diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 3-4 minutes.
Adding Rice and Broth
- Stir in the uncooked rice and Italian seasoning, mixing well.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
Finishing the Dish
- After 15 minutes, stir in the frozen peas and heavy cream. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the rice is tender and creamy.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve warm.
