Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups salted pretzels measured before crushing
  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 oz Cool Whip thawed in refrigerator
  • 6 oz strawberry Jell-O mix
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 16 oz strawberries fresh or frozen, hulled & sliced

Method

  1. Start by crushing your pretzels into small pieces. Combine the crushed pretzels with melted unsalted butter and granulated sugar until evenly coated. Press this mixture into the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the pretzel crust for about 10 minutes. Remove it from the oven and allow it to cool completely.
  3. Mix softened cream cheese with granulated sugar until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in thawed Cool Whip until well combined.
  4. Spread your cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust. Refrigerate this layer while you prepare your strawberry topping.
  5. Dissolve strawberry Jell-O mix in boiling water until fully combined. Stir in sliced strawberries and allow this mixture to cool slightly before pouring it over your cream cheese layer.
  6. Refrigerate your Strawberry Pretzel Salad for at least two hours to let everything set perfectly. Cut into squares and serve.
