Method
Prepare the Oven and Pan
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
Mix Wet Ingredients
- In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir in the melted butter.
- Mix in the beaten egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
Combine Dry Ingredients
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
Combine Mixtures
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in any optional add-ins like walnuts or chocolate chips.
Bake the Bread
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve
- Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
