Ultra Thick Bakery Style Chocolate Chip Cookies

Thick, chewy cookies with crispy edges and gooey centers, loaded with chocolate chips.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt or sea salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups chocolate chips mix of semisweet and dark
  • 14 tablespoons unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled
  • optional extra chocolate chips for topping
  • optional flaky sea salt for topping

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar. Beat until smooth.
  4. Mix in the eggs one at a time along with the vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until no dry flour remains.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Scoop portions of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart. Bake for 12–15 minutes.
  9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for about five minutes before transferring to wire racks.
